Level 1 • 6pm-7pm • Includes the 45 min practice dance from 8:15 to 9pm. This class focuses on 6 count East Coast
swing dance -- some call it 6 count Lindy Hop. We teach a variety of connection skills and how to
keep the momentum going for maximum fun.
When registered for level 1 you can come to Level 2 to observe or practice on the side in the large dance
room --or have a bite to eat and come back for the dance practice at 8:15.
Level 2 • 7:15-8:15 • Includes 45 min practice dance from 8:15 to 9pm - Basics & Beyond for Lindy Hop & East Coast with
a focus on momentum dynamics blending 6 count & 8 count moves. This is the class for you if
you have a good grasp of East Coast Swing and triple steps or have some previous Lindy experience.
Between our level 1 East Coast Swing and Level 2 Lindy Hop Classes, there is a 15 minute Free Swing Practice where dancers from the East Coast Swing class can experiment and work on figures learned. Lindy Hoppers arriving for the 7:15 class can warm up during this time. This is a chance to meet classmates, practice without the stress of a crowded dance floor, and dance to songs where the beat is easy to find. We also have a 45 minute practice dance after classes are over at 8:15.
Please call us to discuss what level is best for you. It may take a few months of our approach in Level 1 to join Level 2 .
Registration - Gualala Arts Center site Call 707.884.1138 -- You can also pay the night of Class--come early especially if new
we will try to be there by 5:30 so you can warm up.
